Protect Your Account from Ad Phishing Scams

Updated over a week ago

What is ad phishing?

Ad phishing is a scam where scammers buy online ads, often on Google, that look like they lead to our real login page, but actually send you to a fake site designed to steal your username and password.

How ad phishing works

Ad phishing scams use fake ads to trick you into giving away your login details:

  1. A convincing ad appears: Scammers pay for an ad that copies our brand name, logo, and wording.

  2. You click the ad and land on a fake login page: The site imitates our sign‑in screen, but the web address is slightly different.

  3. Your credentials get captured: Anything you type — email, password, even MFA codes — goes straight to the scammer.

  4. You might be redirected: After stealing your details, the fake site may forward you to the real login page, so the trick often goes unnoticed.

Protect yourself from ad phishing

Here's what you can do to protect yourself and keep your account secure:

  • Bookmark the real login page and use that bookmark every time you sign in. The best URL to bookmark is https://littlehotelier.authx.siteminder.com/login

  • Check the address bar before entering any details. Make sure it says https://littlehotelier.authx.siteminder.com/login exactly.

  • Set up Multi-factor authentication (MFA) to add an extra layer of security.. We recommend the SiteMinder mobile app — if a login looks suspicious, the app will notify you. Learn how to set up MFA here.

  • Review ‘new device’ login warnings that indicates an unfamiliar device is attempting to log into your account. These warnings are important to review as your account may be compromised and quick action will be crucial.

  • Use a password manager: It will auto‑fill only on genuine sites and alert you if the URL is suspicious.

  • Report suspicious ads or pages by contacting our support team immediately if you see any activity which appears to be suspicious.

  • Keep your browser and antivirus up to date to patch known security issues and improve malicious‑site detection.

If you think you′ve been phished

If you think you may have entered your details on a fake page, take immediate action to secure your account:

  1. Change your password right away.

  2. Contact our support team so we can help secure your account.

Acting quickly is crucial to prevent unauthorised access to your account.
