How to sign your VeriFactu compliance agreement

Updated this week

To help you stay compliant with Spanish tax regulations, Little Hotelier has partnered with Fiskaly, a certified intermediary, to submit invoices to the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT) on your behalf.

Before you get started

Before you register for VeriFactu, you’ll need to digitally sign a VeriFactu compliance agreement. In order to complete this process you will need to have your digital certificate and signing tool on the same device.

Digital certificate (mandatory requirement)

Important: Having a qualified digital certificate is a legal requirement for all Spanish residents/properties for any formal signing process. This is not a VeriFactu-specific step, but it is necessary to proceed.

  • If your business already has the legally required certificate, you can skip the steps below.

  • If not, you must obtain one (most hoteliers use the FNMT Certificate).

    1. Complete the request and verify your identity at a local AEAT office.

    2. Download and save the certificate securely on the specific device you will use for signing.

Signing tool

  • You must have a government-approved signing tool installed on the same device where the certificate is saved.

  • Autofirma is the official Spanish government tool.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to submit the agreement to the AEAT myself?

No, once you sign and upload, Little Hotelier securely forwards the agreement to Fiskaly. They store it safely and provide it to the AEAT if they request verification.

Can I use a paper signature instead of signing digitally?

A digital signature is mandatory for this type of authorisation. Paper signatures are not accepted by the AEAT.
