If you're seeing an error message from Airbnb, it's usually caused by a mismatch between your configured settings and your Airbnb account. Most errors need to be resolved in Airbnb directly before you re-enable the channel or rate.
⚠️ Before troubleshooting
Before troubleshooting, check that your Airbnb channel is enabled and your rates are mapped.
Check 1: Airbnb channel must be enabled
Find Airbnb and verify the channel status shows Enabled (not Disabled)
If disabled: Enable the Airbnb channel in Channel settings
Check 2: Airbnb rates must be mapped and enabled
Check all rates show as mapped (not "Unmapped")
Click each Airbnb channel rate has "Start updating channel" set to Yes
Listing setup and account verification errors
Check mandatory fields: Ensure all required fields are complete. Missing mandatory fields—highlighted in red—can prevent mapping.
Check 'Listed' / 'Unlisted' status on Airbnb: In Airbnb's extranet, check that the listing's status is set to "Listed" on Airbnb. An "Unlisted" status can prevent it from appearing in mappable options. Refresh the page after making changes.
Error: "Error happened when mapping channel, please try again later"
Please check with Airbnb and verify your account.
Error: "An error occurred. Please try again later" when trying to save mapping
This error appears when attempting to save the mapping. Check the following:
Check that there are no fields highlighted in red in the room rate mapping configuration. Once all required field and there is no more highlighted field > Save.
If you have tried above but it does not fix, try changing the 'Start updating channel' setting to 'No' then click Save. This should save the mapping to ‘disable’ state. Then, change it back to 'Yes' and click Save.
Error: "Listing rejected by Airbnb for the following reason: verify listing"
You are required to register your place and need to contact Airbnb support team with this error message for Airbnb to accept this listing. For example, you may need to submit your registration details to Airbnb in relation to local regulations and laws. View the guidelines here.
Confirm that all address and account verification details are complete, as missing these can cause listing rejections.
If you encounter errors such as "Failed to Import" or "Still in Progress," ensure your listing complies with Airbnb regulations and data completeness. Contact Airbnb Support if the issue persists for further assistance.
Error: "We are unable to update this room rate due to the Property/Listing type being unable to support multiple inventory"
This error appears when listing type settings conflict with inventory levels:
For "Entire home" or "house" property types, check you don't have an incorrect inventory level entered, as this type only supports an inventory level of 1.
For other accommodation types, check that the appropriate Property and Listing type has been selected. Check your accommodation type in your Airbnb extranet.
Error: "Make sure the number you provide matches your registration number and is in the correct format"
Check the Permit or Tax ID entered as it doesn't match the details on Airbnb.
Error: "You must verify your phone number before activating your listing"
Verify your phone number on Airbnb before activating your listing. Contact Airbnb customer service for help.
Error: "You are not yet eligible to apply a Super Strict cancellation policy"
Your listing isn't eligible for a Super Strict cancellation policy. Please contact Airbnb for guidance.
Pricing errors
Error: "Please use a base price of at least [amount]"
Your rate is lower than the minimum 10 USD or higher than the maximum 25,000 USD allowed on Airbnb. Check your rates are correct. If using a rate multiplier, ensure it's set correctly in channel settings.
Error: "You have set a rate that is lower than the Cleaning Fee you have entered"
Your rate is lower than the cleaning fee you entered. Increase your nightly rate, or decrease the cleaning fee.
Error: "Airbnb requires the extra person price to be between 5 USD and 300 USD"
Check the Extra adult rate in the channel rate configuration/mapping and update it to a value between 5-300 USD. Also ensure that the currently in your Airbnb extranet match your property settings in your platform, or enable currency conversion.
Error: "Please use a security deposit of at least [amount]"
Airbnb requires the security deposit to be between 100 USD and 5000 USD. If using a different currency, update the listing with a converted security deposit value for your currency.
Error: "Your daily price is too high"
Your rate is higher than the maximum 25,000 USD. Check your rates are correct. If using a rate multiplier, ensure it's set correctly in channel settings.
Error: "Your daily price is too low"
Your rate is lower than the minimum 10 USD. Check your rates are correct. If using a rate multiplier, ensure it's set correctly in channel settings.
Error: "Discounts: Weekly rate price is lower than Monthly rate price"
Weekly rate price cannot be lower than Monthly rate price. To resolve this:
You cannot set only a weekly rate - you must set both weekly and monthly rates
Ensure the monthly rate price is higher than the weekly rate price
If you want to set both weekly and monthly to null, enter "1" in both fields
Error: "Please contact your Channel Manager support regarding this mapping. Approval Status needs to be updated"
This indicates the listing needs re-approval from Airbnb. To resolve:
Ensure all required mapping information is complete (minimum 12 character listing name, 50+ character description, 7+ images, 5+ amenities)
Disconnect the rate from the channel
Map the listing again to resubmit information to Airbnb for verification
Location and address errors
Error: "The address you entered is different/not accurate"
Each Airbnb listing has its own address. Customers must contact Airbnb Support directly to update the address for each listing, as this cannot be managed via the channel manager.
Address mismatches are commonly caused by the 'Apartment Number' field.
If the "Apt" field is empty in Airbnb's extranet, the "Apartment Number" field in the channel mapping must also be left empty. Any difference between the two can trigger a mismatch error.
Error: "You can't change your listing's address once you've started receiving reservation requests. If you need to make an update, please contact support"
We are unable to update your listing on Airbnb as your address details do not match those in your Airbnb account. If you have existing reservations and need to change the address, you must contact Airbnb Support directly.
After fixing the error
How to re-enable your Airbnb connection
If the Airbnb channel rate (listing) was disabled:
Fix the issue that caused the error.
Go to Channels > Airbnb > Room rates mapping.
Click on the Airbnb channel rate.
Under Start updating channel, click Yes.
Click Save.
If the entire Airbnb channel became disabled:
Fix the issue that caused the error.
Go to Channels > Airbnb > Channel settings.
Click Enable connection to Airbnb.
