Overview of multi-mapping

💡 Important to know:

  • To map, go to My apps > Channel Manager > Channels

What is multi-mapping?

Multiple channel rates can be mapped to, and managed by, a single rate as long as their rates and restrictions are the same. This is known as multi-mapping, and it provides flexible mapping options to help you simplify your setup.

💡 Multi-mapping is common for those participating in Expedia’s Travellers Preference program.

What does multi-mapping look like?

Multi-mapped room rates will be mapped to multiple channel rates and will look like this once mapped:

When do I use multi-mapping?

Use multi-mapping, when you are mapping to channels that sell multiple variants of each rate.

➕ For example, a "Single room - room only" rate on your Channel Manager and one of your channels has multiple variations of this rate:

  • Single room - room only - guaranteed

  • Single room - room only - non-guaranteed

  • Single room - room only - corporate

Multi-mapping allows you to map each of these variants to the "Single room - room only" rate, ensuring all reservations are delivered to your Front Desk.

Multi-mapping is not required in the following scenarios:

  • When you require reservations for each of the channel rate variants to be delivered as different rates ie; if a rate has an extra or a specific inclusion

  • When the channel rates require different pricing, availability, or restrictions

How do I multi-map?

  • Go to My apps > Channel Manager > Channels

  • Click on the channel name > Configure

  • Click on the Channel Manager Room Rate (2nd column) you want to map and select ‘Map to <Channel Name>'

  • Select the Channel Rate you want to map from the drop-down list and click ‘Yes’ to ‘Start updating channel’

  • Click Save

  • Repeat steps above to map additional channel rates

⚠️ If you are using multi-mapped rates, each rate should be Derived and set to Keep rates the same.
