Promotion codes created in our platform can only be used in the Little Hotelier Booking Engine.
Your channel(s) may use different promotion codes from ours — for more information, please contact their support teams.
To manage your Little Hotelier Booking Engine’s promotion codes, go to Setup > Enhanced selling options.
Introduction to promotion codes
Promotion codes — also known as promo codes — are exclusive, limited-time discounts that can encourage customers to stay or stay again at your property.
Once you have created a promotion code in our platform, customers can enter it on your Little Hotelier Booking Engine (along with their search criteria) to receive a discount on their reservation.
There are various ways you can advertise your promotion codes:
Post-departure e-mails — to increase your number of returning customers.
Social media, newsletters, your property’s official website — to get new customers to book using your Little Hotelier Booking Engine.
Marketing campaigns: internet, newspapers, TV, radio, billboards, posters, etc. — to target specific customer demographics and entice them to book via your Little Hotelier Booking Engine.
💡 Note:
Once you have created at least one promotion code in our platform, a promotion code field will be featured on your Little Hotelier Booking Engine that customers can use to enter a code.
Consider offering “exclusive” discounts with your promotion codes — they will seem more unique.
Create a promotion code
To create a promotion code, follow these instructions:
Go to Setup, under Enhanced selling options, click Setup > Setup Promotions > Create promotion.
Enter the required information:
Code — enter the code that customers must enter on your Little Hotelier Booking Engine to get the deal offered in the promotion code. For example, ‘XMASoffer’. (Promotion codes can only contain letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores; spaces are not allowed.)
Description — add a description of your promotion to help you remember what it is for. (This is internal only and will not be seen by your guests.)
Show discount on booking summary — tick this option if you want the discounted price to be visible to customers on your Little Hotelier Booking Engine (shown under the booking summary’s Room charges > Promotional discount when a customer is finalising their booking).
Default rate discount for selected room types — select either percentage or amount in the drop-down menu, then enter a numeric value to specify the discount. (When assigning this promotion code to your room rates, you can also set custom discounts to override this general Default discount, if necessary.)
Enter the following dates:
Available from — enter the first date from which guests can use the promotion code.
Available to — enter the final date when guests can use the promotion code.
Applicable from — enter the first date from which the promotion code applies.
Applicable to — enter the final date when the promotion code applies.
Under Rate Plans, tick the rate plans that you want the promotion code to be applied to.
If necessary, you can override the Default rate discount you entered earlier by entering other discounts for specific rate plans — to do this, select either a percentage or an amount in the drop-down menu, then enter a numeric value to specify the discount for each rate plan.
Click Create to save your discount.
💡 Note:
If you want to view which rate plans are linked to which active promotion codes, go to Setup, and under Enhanced selling options click Setup Promotions — the rate plans are listed to the right of each promotion code.
To increase their appeal, we recommend tying your promotion codes to temporary offers that are only available for a limited time.
Always clarify when a promotion code will expire.
A customer can use a promotion code repeatedly as long as it is active on your Little Hotelier Booking Engine.
Because our system cannot differentiate between customers who have or have not used a promotion code more than once, we recommend changing your codes regularly.
Edit a promotion code
Go to Setup, under Enhanced selling options, click Setup promotions > locate the promotion code you want to edit, and click on it to open its details.
Make the necessary edit(s).
Click on Save.
Delete a promotion code
Go to Setup, under Enhanced selling options, click Setup promotions > locate the promotion code you want to delete, and click on it to open its details.
Click on Delete to remove the promotion code.
⚠️ Deleting a promotion code cannot be undone — it will be permanently removed from any of its assigned rate plans and your Little Hotelier Booking Engine.
