The Kassensicherungsverordnung (KassenSichV) is a German regulation requiring all merchants operating cash registers in Germany to connect to a certified Technical Security System (TSS), thereby helping to safeguard a business’ transactions and prevent tax evasion.

KassenSichV compliance in Little Hotelier
Little Hotelier has partnered with the software company fiskaly GmbH to help ensure that properties operating in Germany follow cash register compliance. Compliant German Little Hotelier properties will have:
Events impacting cash register transactions shared with fiskaly GmbH for audit logging in real time.
A QR code included in new invoices for reservations following a ‘fiscal event’ (a payment or a refund) which signifies that fiskaly GmbH TSS has been applied.
Set up cash register with TSS
All German Little Hotelier properties will have cash register compliance enabled by default. However, users will need to accept Little Hotelier’s Terms and Conditions when onboarding.
Add the appropriate tax identifiers and set the tax rate types outlined in German tax settings.
Once the previous step has been completed, your Little Hotelier cash register will sync all transactions to Fiskaly’s TSS in real time.
New invoices for reservations following a fiscal event will include a QR code that can be used for auditing purposes. It also means that fiskaly GmbH TSS has been applied.
💡 Please wait a few minutes for TSS to add the QR code to an invoice; the invoice cannot be downloaded or re-generated until the code has been added.
Download extracts and log files
In the footer click General Ledger. (This is only available for German properties that have set up TSS.)
Click on the Cash Register Data Extracts tab.
Enter the From date and To date of the period of data you wish to export, then click Generate export.
The exported files, DsfinV-K extracts and TSS Log File , will appear below. Click each file to download it. If there are multiple extracts and log files in the selected period, they will be listed individually for download.
Frequently asked questions
What transactions are fiscalised? What happens if there are changes?
Fiscalised cash register transactions are categorised into orders and receipts. In Little Hotelier, an order is equivalent to a reservation and a receipt is equivalent to a payment/refund.
What happens to the data generated prior to enabling cash register compliance?
Historical data created in Little Hotelier prior to the enablement of cash register compliance will not be fiscalised.
What happens to the data when I no longer want to use Little Hotelier?
You won’t be able to access invoices after your Little Hotelier subscription ends; the TSS is disabled at the same time as your account. We recommend downloading all fiscalised data prior to ending your subscription and storing it in case of an audit event.
Why am I not able to download or generate an invoice?
If a fiscal event recently occured, you might need to wait a few minutes before you can download or generate an invoice. This is because the invoice’s QR code needs to be generated, as explained above.
