Basics of the Little Hotelier Channel Manager

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the channel manager do?
Your channel manager is the interface between Little Hotelier and your Online Travel Agents (OTAs) and channels. It's where you map and connect your rates and allowing reservations and inventory to be shared between your front desk and booking channels.

Do I need to use the channel manager every day?
We recommend checking your channel manager from time to time to ensure there are no issues affecting your connections.

I see there's a tab for Inventory in the channel manager too, can I update that?
Inventory updates can only be made from your Little Hotelier Front Desk. Your channel manager only looks after the mapping of your channels and rates.

How to map and connect to channels

Frequently Asked Questions

What is mapping?
Mapping is the linking of your various channels' rates to their equivalent rates in your front desk. This is what allows all your inventory to be managed from Little Hotelier and shared across channels.

Can I create an account with a channel on Little Hotelier?
No, you'll need to create an account with a channel first. You'll then need to set up your rooms and rates on their extranet which can be connected to Little Hotelier. The room rate structures between your channel and front desk should match in order for the connection to work.

I'm unsure if a channel supports the restrictions I've set in my front desk. How do I check this?
When mapping your rates to a channel, you'll see its supported restrictions. When a channel does not support a restriction set in your front desk, you will need to set up an equivalent restriction in the channel's extranet if possible.

Multimapping and derivations

Can I edit a derivation in the mapping after I have saved it?
Yes, you can change the derivation as many times as you need to and edit the type of adjustment you set.

There are some dates in the year that will need an override on the derived price, can I do that?
Yes, you can add several overrides in the mapping to help you plan ahead and manage your prices for busier periods.
