Overview

Extras are more than just additional income; they enhance your guests' experience and promote your property. Partner with local businesses to provide tours, meals, spa treatments, and more, all bookable directly through your booking engine.

What are extras

Extras are products or services that complement your guest’s stay. Examples include:

  • Airport shuttles

  • Breakfast

  • Minibar items

  • Spa treatments

  • Tours or activities

  • Romantic packages


Why create extras

  • Increase revenue: easy way to generate additional revenue

  • Happy guests: convenience and variety enhancing the guest experience

  • Repeat business: returning guests may choose you for unique extras

  • Strong partnerships: collaborate with local businesses


Types of extras

  • Per Booking: applied once (late check-in fee)

  • Per Person Per Night: varies by guest and night (meals)

  • Per Room: applies once per room (champagne bottle)

  • Per Room Per Night: applies per room per night (daily cleaning)

  • Per person: applies per guest (spa day)


Where guests see extras

During the booking process, guests can choose optional extras or view mandatory ones included in the booking.

Creating extras

  1. Go to My apps > Direct Booking > Setup > Extras

  2. Choose the type: click the relevant tab

  3. Fill in details: provide a name, description, applicable from/to, category, rate, and other information

  4. Customise: allow multiple instances, make it mandatory, or assign it to specific room rates

  5. Set taxes: select applicable taxes

  6. Click Create

  7. Add photos (optional)

Editing and deleting extras

  • Edit: Go to Direct Booking > Setup > Extras > find your extra and click Edit. Make changes and click Save.

  • Delete (Permanent): Go to Direct Booking > Setup > Extras > find your extra and click Delete and confirm in the pop-up window
