Invoice compliance in Italy: subscribe to automatic e-invoice clearance with Little Hotelier

Aimed at properties in Italy, this article explains how to subscribe to automatic e-invoice clearance with Little Hotelier, a more convenient option compared to manual clearance.


Benefits of automatic e-invoice clearance with Little Hotelier

To comply with national regulations, properties in Italy must submit their guest invoices to a government authority and get them approved before sending them to guests for payment.

As explained in Invoice compliance in Italy: prepare, upload, and submit e-invoices, you can do this manually. However, the quicker and easier method is to do it automatically — and all you need to do is subscribe to automatic e-invoice clearance with Little Hotelier.


Subscribe to automatic e-invoice clearance

⚠️ When using automatic e-invoice clearance with Little Hotelier, 30 cents will be incurred for each e-invoice that is successfully cleared, and a bill will be sent to you at the end of each month.

  1. Go to Setup > Update Property Details (under Property & Room Settings) > Compliance. (Only properties in Italy are able to see the Compliance tab.)

  2. Under E-invoice clearance & archiving, click on the Enable button. (This will open a new window.)

  3. Follow the instructions in the Enable invoice compliance window, as detailed below.

Step 1: E-invoice clearance & archiving

Read the terms and conditions thoroughly, then click on Next to agree.

Step 2: Tax information

Enter the following details and click on Next:

  • Partita IVA — enter your property’s tax identification number, consisting of 1–28 characters.

  • Codice Fiscale — enter your property’s tax code, comprising 11–16 uppercase alphanumeric characters.

💡 Note:

  • Some or all of the above data may already be filled in if you have provided it in the past.

  • You cannot edit the Legal business name field — to change it, please contact our support team.

  • Your property’s legal business name is the name that appears on your property’s legal documents and tax filings. It may be different from your trading name, which is the public–facing name of your business.

Step 3: Company information

Enter the following details and click on Next:

  • Is your business registered with REA? — select Yes or No depending on whether or not your property business is registered with the Repertorio Economico Amministrativo (REA).

  • Enter your REA registration number — enter the necessary registration number (if applicable).

  • Select the province where you have registered with REA — select the necessary province (if applicable).

  • Are you registered with the REA as a capital based company? — select Yes or No according to whether or not your property business is registered with the REA as a capital-based company, such as the ‘Società per Azioni (SpA)’ , ‘Società in Accomandita per Azioni (SApA)’, or ‘Società a Responsabilità Limitata (SRL)’.

  • What is your share capital in the company? — enter the necessary amount (if applicable).

  • Is your company registered as an LLC or joint stock company? — select Yes or No depending on whether your property business is registered as a limited liability company (LLC) or a joint-stock company.

  • Select the ownership type for this company — depending on the ownership type for your property business, select either Sole owner or Multiple shareholders from the drop-down menu.

  • Is your company currently under liquidation? — select Yes or No according to whether or not your property business is being liquidated (in other words, the business is being closed so that its assets can be sold to pay off its debts).

Step 4: Documentation

  1. Download the Preservation Manager Appointment and the Outsourcing Archiving Delegation.

  2. Read the Notification of Storage Abroad and the Preservation Manual.

  3. Click on Next.

Step 5: Terms and conditions

Read the Terms and conditions thoroughly. To agree, tick the checkbox and click on Next.

Step 6: Finish

Review the details you have entered:

  • If any of them are incorrect — click on the Back button and update the necessary field(s).

  • If they are all correct — click on the Enable invoice compliance button to confirm your subscription to automatic e-invoice clearance with Little Hotelier.

💡 Once you have subscribed, the following will take place:

  1. Your property’s admin user will be sent an e-mail confirming both the subscription and the details required to access the property’s e-invoice archive — please keep these safe.

  2. A new Submit invoice for clearance button will be featured on each reservation’s Invoices tab.


Disable automatic e-invoice clearance

⚠️ Note:

  • When you disable automatic e-invoice clearance, you will be given 30 days to undo the action and/or download your archive of cleared e-invoices.

  • Once these 30 days are up, your archive of cleared e-invoices will be deleted and you will be charged for any outstanding amount owed during the time you used the service.

  1. Go to Setup > Update Property Details (under Property & Room Settings) > Compliance. (Only properties in Italy are able to see the Compliance tab.)

  2. Under Invoice compliance, click on the Disable button.

  3. Click on the Disable invoice compliance button to confirm.
