Supported inventory updates

The Expedia channel connection supports the following inventory updates, but not all inventory types are supported for every channel rate. For example, rates and restrictions are not supported for package or derived rates because they are linked to the main rate that is managed via the channel. Check the inventory data supported/not supported for each Expedia rate when mapping.

  • Rates (those shown on the Inventory grid)

  • Single guest discount: only supported when using occupancy-based pricing

  • Availability

  • Restrictions: (Minimum stay, Maximum stay, Stop sell, CTA; closed to arrival, and CTD; closed to departure)

💡 Expedia has a maximum inventory update period of 730 days.

Before connecting

You need to set up an account with Expedia before connecting the channel in your Channel Manager. Create an account here.

Before mapping to Expedia, create your room types and rate plans in Expedia’s extranet. Set up settings such as room type details, occupancy settings, and extra person charges. Some settings need to be managed via the Expedia extranet directly, including extra person fees, deposits, cancellation policies, content and images.

Connect to Expedia

  1. Log in to Expedia Partner Central (expediapartnercentral.com) and select your property.

  2. Go to the Rooms and Rates section and click on Expedia Connectivity Settings.

Step 2: Connect Expedia in Little Hotelier Channel Manager

Expedia channel settings

To check and set Expedia's channel settings, go to My Apps > Channel Manager > Channels > Expedia > Channel settings tab.

  • Reservation e-mail address: Little Hotelier sends reservation confirmation and update e-mails for your property to this address for Expedia bookings. Expedia does not send reservation e-mail notifications to your property by default. To check if you can receive notifications directly from Expedia as well, contact Expedia directly. (Note: Little Hotelier cannot send booking confirmation e-mails for reservations containing unmapped rates)

  • Rate multiplier: at channel level for all room rates, or channel rate level for specific channel rates only

  • Currency conversion: confirm your property's base currency is correctly set via Property Settings. If currency conversion is enabled, select the currency code in Expedia channel settings. The currency in Little Hotelier must be the currency set in your Expedia extranet

  • Reservation commission percentage: reservation commission will be added on top of the total reservation amount
