Important to know:

  • The Automated payments feature can only be used with Little Hotelier Pay

  • To access Automated payments, go to My apps > Payments > Automated payments

Introduction to Automated payments

The Automated payments feature lets you set up automatic charges across your guest’s booking experience. Every rule has conditions that determine which reservation it applies to.

Example:

Create a rule that is triggered if a reservation meets the below conditions:

  • Booking.com channel

Configure the rule to make an automatic charge after it has been triggered:

  • on the check-in day for the outstanding amount

Note:

  • The full features of Automated payments can only be used with Little Hotelier Pay

Create a rule

  1. Go to My Apps > Payments > Automated payments

  2. Click on Create a rule

  3. Follow the step-by-step guide to create the rule

When using the guide, take note of the following:

Step One - Payment rule

  • In the Payment action section, use the dropdown menus to set up when to process the payment

Step Two - Settings

  • Select the channel(s) for this rule to apply to. The rule will trigger when a reservation is booked through any of these channels.

Step three - Review and activate

  • Confirm all settings before activating the rule as they cannot be updated afterwards. The payment rule will take effect immediately upon activation.

Manage rules

Go to My Apps > Payments > Automated payments > Manage rules to see a list of all your created rules.

Filter rules by:

  • Active

  • Archived

Click on View to open a detailed summary of each rule, including the date it was created, conditions and payment actions.

What are some examples of Automated payment rules?

Automated payment rule criteria

Description

When to charge payment: 7 days before check-in day

Time of day: 11am

The guest will be charged the outstanding balance minus any deposits captured at time of booking. This will include the reservation fee and any modifications (extras or add-ons).

When to charge payment: check-out day

Time of day: 12pm

The guest will be charged the outstanding balance remaining at time of check-out, such as new charges for extras incurred during their stay.

When to charge payment: check-in day

Time of day: 11am

The guest will be charged the outstanding

balance on check-in, such as new charges for extras added prior to check-in but after the booking was made.
