Managing payments at your property

To allow guests to make online booking through your booking engine, you’ll need to set up accepted payment methods in Little Hotelier. Guests will need to enter their payment information to confirm reservations. You can select which credit cards and other payment methods to accept at your property, as well as adding surcharges to pass on fees or charges to your guests.

Once a booking is confirmed, you can choose how to handle payments:

  • Little Hotelier Pay: set up automatic deposits at time of booking, process payments through the Front Desk or send a payment request

  • Accept cash payments upon guest arrival

  • Manually process card payments on-site

Credit Cards

Once you have selected your accepted cards, adding a surcharge is optional if you wish to pass on fees or charges to your guests. Before applying a surcharge, check your local laws to adhere to surcharge regulations.

To set up credit cards:

  1. Go to Setup > Guest Payment Options > Credit Cards

  2. Check the boxes for each card you accept

  3. Add card surcharges if applicable, check local laws to adhere to surcharge regulations.

  4. Click Save

Other payment methods

Properties with Little Hotelier Pay can enable other payment methods such as:

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay

  • iDEAL: available in Europe (excluding UK)

To set up other payment methods:

  1. Go to Setup > Guest Payment Options > Credit Cards

  2. Select accepted payment methods

  3. Add surcharges if applicable, must comply with local regulations

  5. Update your privacy policy to include other payment methods

  6. Click Save

Email alerts

Properties with Little Hotelier Pay can get email notifications when a reservation is made through your booking engine with an invalid card. Allowing you to stay on top of potential problems and reach out to the guest quickly.

  1. Go to Setup > Guest Payment Options > Credit Cards

  2. Select Email alerts for invalid cards checkbox

  3. Click Save
