Set up payment methods for Direct Booking

Manage payment methods and surcharges for Direct Booking.

Set up your payment methods in Direct Booking to streamline your booking process and ensure secure guest payments. You need at least one accepted payment method for guests to complete online bookings through your booking engine.

To get started:

  1. Go to My apps > Direct Booking > Setup > Property > Payment.

⚠️ You also need to set up payment methods in Front Desk > Setup > Guest Payment Options > Credit Cards.

Credit Cards

  1. Activate a payment gateway to enable automatic deposits for your bookings

  2. Click Edit to complete security verification, then retrieve a confirmation code from your e-mail and enter it to confirm

  3. Select the cards your property accepts

  4. Add card surcharges if applicable. Check your local regulations before applying surcharges. Credit card surcharges will only be shown to the guest once they enter their credit card details.

  5. Click Save

Other payment methods

Once you have connected Little Hotelier Pay, you can unlock other payment methods such as:

  • Apple Pay: not available if your booking engine is embedded into a website

  • Google Pay

  • iDEAL: available in Europe (excluding UK)

To set up other payment methods:

  1. Click Edit to complete security verification.

  2. Select your accepted payment methods and add surcharges if applicable. Surcharges must comply with local regulations.

  3. Update your privacy policy to include other payment methods

  4. Click Save

💡 Bank transfers are not accepted as a payment method for your direct booking engine.

Service Charges

To set up service charges:

  1. Set the service charge percentage

  2. Select the service charge type (e.g., per booking, per person)

  3. Click Save to make changes
