Display the room rates inclusive of taxes and fees

The setting Display the room rates inclusive of taxes and fees affects how your guests see prices and taxes on your booking engine and in booking confirmations.

Option 1: Display Rates Inclusive of Taxes (when setting is selected)

  • Guests see room rates including taxes

  • Taxes are not displayed separately in the booking summary but are already incorporated into the total amount due

  • Payments will only show the combined total that includes both the room rate(s) and the taxes

Option 2: Display Rates Exclusive of Taxes (when setting is not selected)

  • Guests see room rates without taxes included

  • Taxes are displayed separately in the booking summary and excluded from the total amount due

  • Payments will show the breakdown of room rate(s) and the separate tax amount(s)

Notes:

  • Regardless of the option selected, the actual tax amount remains the same

  • The setting only affects how taxes are presented to guests

  • Choosing the appropriate option depends on your local regulations and guest preferences

How taxes are displayed in the booking summary

Accurate tax setup helps you comply with regulations and provides transparency for your guests.

Percentage taxes

  • Displayed based on Display the room rates inclusive of taxes and fees setting

  • If disabled, shown separately in Percentage taxes total and excluded from the total

  • If enabled, shown in Percentage taxes included and included in the total

Fixed amount taxes

  • Shown in the "Fixed amount taxes" field and excluded from the total
