Overview
Italy requires all merchants to digitally link their electronic payment systems with fiscal cash registers through the Italian Revenue Agency's government portal. This helps the Italian Revenue Agency cross-check payment data against sales receipts for tax transparency.
This requirement applies to you if you store and electronically transmit daily sales data (corrispettivi telematici) and accept electronic payments including through Little Hotelier Pay.
The regulation is officially in effect January 1, 2026, with enforcement starting in March 2026 when the portal goes live. You need to complete a one-time digital registration connecting your Little Hotelier Pay system to your fiscal cash register through the "Fatture e Corrispettivi" portal. You have 45 days after the portal launches to register existing payment systems.
