Stop or pause direct bookings

How to stop or temporarily pause bookings through your booking engine.

If you need to pause or stop taking direct bookings, you can apply stop sells, set your booking engine to enquiry only, or remove your direct booking rates from your booking engine completely.

⚠️ Direct Booking is not managed via Channel Manager > Channels > Channel settings. There is no channel settings page to disable the connection like other OTA channels.

Apply a stop sell to your booking engine

To apply a stop sell to your booking engine for specific dates:

  1. Go to Front Desk > Inventory.

  2. Click the Bulk Update button.

  3. Choose dates under When?

  4. Under Which days?, select the days of the week.

  5. Select the applicable room rates under Which room rates?

  6. Under What changes?, tick Close website.

  7. Click Update.

Set your booking engine to enquiry only

Setting your booking engine to enquiry only replaces the Book now button with an Enquiry button. Guests can still see your availability but need to submit a form to request a booking rather than booking instantly.

To set your booking engine to enquiry only:

  1. Navigate to My Apps > Direct Booking.

  2. Go to Setup > Property > Customisation tab.

  3. Under Booking Settings, tick Enquiry only.

  4. Add a customised message in the text field. This message displays above the enquiry form on your booking engine.

Suspend your room rates in Direct Booking

Suspending your room rates removes them from your booking engine. Your booking engine will show no rooms available. You can reactivate each rate at any time.

  1. Go to My Apps > Direct Booking > Setup > Rooms and rates.

  2. Click on the room rate name.

  3. Click Suspend.

  4. Repeat these steps for each room rate.

Suspend Demand Plus

If you have Demand Plus active, you can pause or suspend Demand Plus to stop your rates from appearing on Google Hotel Ads, TripAdvisor, and Trivago.

To pause or suspend Demand Plus:

  1. Go to My Apps > Direct Booking > Setup > Integrations.

  2. In the Demand Plus tab, click Pause Demand Plus.

  3. Select how long you want to pause for and enter a reason.

  4. Click Pause.
