How to send guests to an external booking platform from an offer

Use these steps to have an offer in the Concierge, but when a guest clicks the CTA, they are redirected to another website

Updated over a year ago

There are certain times when you may want to feature and offer in the Concierge that requires the guest to complete their own booking via a third party page.

Some common examples of this include spa treatments, tour providers, restaurant reservations, and so on.

The good news is that it is quite easy to set this up!

Create your offer

If you haven't already done so, go ahead and set up your offer as usual. For this example, we'll use booking a spa treatment:

  1. Recommended: Choose the "Book now" call-to-action label

  2. Important: Delete the price, as the final price for each booking will be determined on an external site

Get the URL to which you want guests to be sent

In most cases, all you need to do is go to the booking page yourself, and copy the URL:

Sometimes there might be a bit more to it than this. Don't stress! Just ask us for some help if you're having trouble or if finding the URL isn't as straightforward as this.

Add the URL to your Guest Engagement offer

Go back to your offer in Guest Engagement, and go to the Advanced tab:

  1. Paste the URL you copied into the Redirect URL field

  2. Check the box for the setting Don't send the confirmation email to the guest. The reason for this is, the guest will complete their booking outside of Guest Engagement, and if Guest Engagement sends a confirmation email once they click the offer's CTA button, they will be confused.

Final notes

When a guest clicks the call to action button, you will still be able to see this as an order in your list under Guest activity > Orders (and you will still be emailed about it).

However, you just need to ensure that you and your staff are aware that you do not need to confirm or cancel these requests.
