Little Hotelier Payments, our integrated payment solution - manage payments through your mobile app

💡 Important to know:

  • In order to use the Little Hotelier mobile app’s Take payment and Payment request features, you must first set up our official payment gateway, Little Hotelier Payments.

  • Little Hotelier Payments can be set up by opening the desktop version of Little Hotelier, navigating to the Setup tab, clicking on Setup Payment Gateways, and following the resulting instructions.

  • If you do not set up Little Hotelier Payments, you will only be able to record payments through the Little Hotelier app, not process them.


Take a payment through your Little Hotelier mobile app

  1. Find a reservation in the Little Hotelier mobile app, either via Calendar or Reservations, and tap on it.

  2. Tap on the Take payment button.

  3. In the Process tab, under Payment details , enter your guest’s payment card details.

  4. Enter the Amount to be charged.

  5. To add a note about the payment, tap on Add note, enter your text, and, if necessary, enable the toggle Add copy of note to invoice.

  6. Use any other toggles, as required: Mark payment as deposit , Apply surcharge , E-mail copy of invoice. (Please note: surcharges are configured in Setup > Setup credit cards via the desktop version of Little Hotelier.)

  7. Tap on Review and check that all of the details are correct.

  8. Tap on Charge [x amount].


Create and send a payment request through your Little Hotelier mobile app

  1. Find a reservation in the Little Hotelier mobile app, either via Calendar or Reservations, and tap on it.

  2. Tap on the reservation’s Take payment button.

  3. In the Request tab, complete the following fields, where applicable (some of which may be filled in already if the guest provided the necessary details when making the reservation): Reservation ID / Reference ID , Guest name , Amount , Reason for payment request , Guest message. ( about these on .)

  4. Select a Sharing method from the drop-down menu:

    • E-mail — send the payment request to the guest via e-mail.

    • SMS — launch your device’s SMS application, then create and send a text message containing the payment request link. (Note: the cost of sending the SMS will be charged to the owner of the device.)

    • Link — launch your device’s share menu and send the payment request link via an application of your choice (text, instant message, e-mail, etc.).

  5. Tap on Send request for [x amount].


Record a payment through your Little Hotelier mobile app

💡 These steps cover recording a payment that was processed outside of Little Hotelier.

  1. Find a reservation in the Little Hotelier mobile app, either via Calendar or Reservations, and tap on it.

  2. Tap on the reservation’s Take payment button.

  3. In the Record tab, enter the Amount to be recorded. (Below this field is the amount outstanding to be paid by the guest.)

  4. Select the Payment date.

  5. In the drop-down menu, select the Payment type and fill in any required details.

  6. To add a note about the payment, tap on Add note , enter your text, and, if necessary, enable the toggle Add copy of note to invoice.

  7. Use any other toggles, as required: Mark payment as deposit , Apply surcharge , E-mail copy of invoice. (Please note: surcharges are configured in Setup > Setup credit cards via the desktop version of Little Hotelier.)

  8. Check the Total amount and, if applicable, make sure it includes any necessary surcharges and/or fees.

  9. Tap on Review and check that all of the details are correct.

  10. Tap on Record [x amount].
