💡 Important to know:

  • The pace report is a graphic comparison of your Reservation revenue, room nights, and average daily rate (ADR) — known as your ‘pace’ — during two periods of time.

  • To access Pace reports, go to My Apps > Insights > Pace

This article explains how to create, view, and download pace reports — a useful tool that allows you to compare your business’ performance to that of previous years, and use it to plan pricing strategies, track campaigns, and identify issues affecting your revenue.

Create a pace report

Follow the steps below to create a pace report.

  1. Enter the report’s date range into the Stay date field.

  2. Click the double arrow buttons to the left or right to view the previous or next periods, respectively. These periods are equivalent to your originally selected range.

➕ For example, if you choose to view a seven-day date range, the previous and next periods will also cover seven days.

  3. In the first Comparison field, select a previous year to compare to the current year.

  4. In the second Comparison field, select one of the following two methods to compare date ranges.

    • Same day of the week — compare the same day of the week in two different years.

➕ For example, you can compare the last Friday of the month in January 2020 and January 2022 (31 January 2020 and 28 January 2022, respectively) with this option. This is a useful option for comparing specific days of the week during different time periods.

    • Same date — compare the same dates in two different years.

➕ For example, you can compare the dates 31 January 2020 and 31 January 2022 with this option. This is helpful if you want to compare seasonal and holiday periods with fixed dates, such as New Year’s Eve.

  4. Below the graph you’ll find a table with the following three rows of data:

    • Revenue this year — the current year’s total revenue, calculated by adding the nightly room rates for all reservations (excluding extras and card surcharges).

    • Room nights this year — the total number of room nights sold/occupied during the selected date range.

    • Average daily rate — the mean rate per day, calculated by dividing the daily revenue per room by the total number of rooms sold (excluding extras and card surcharges).

The table also displays a percentage number coloured in red or green — this indicates whether the number represents a percentage increase (green) or decrease (red) compared to the previous period.

  5. To move the displayed period backwards or forwards in time, click the arrows to the left and right of the table, respectively.

⚠️ The Stay date chart only includes data from the date range that has been selected. For example, if you select reservations booked Last year, you will see Revenue and Room night data for bookings created during the previous year only. To see all available data, select a custom period.
