Setting up your payment terminal

Overview

The Little Hotelier payment terminal provides a secure, integrated solution for processing in-person card payments directly through your Front Desk.

Before you begin

Before starting, check the terminal to ensure the packaging is unopened and undamaged. If you find any damage, please contact our support team.

Step 1: Terminal setup

  1. Install the batter

    1. Remove the battery cover from the bottom left corner

    2. Slide the battery into the slot

    3. Close the cover

  2. Charge the terminal

    1. Connect the charging cable (marked with lightning bolt symbol)

  3. Turn the screen on

    1. Press and hold the power button (right side) until screen activates

    2. To sleep/wake: press power button once

    3. To power off: press and hold power button, select power off option.

  4. Select Language

  5. Select Country

Step 2: Internet connection

WiFi

  1. Select your network (use same network as Little Hotelier Front Desk)

  2. Enter network password and connect

Ethernet

  1. Connect Ethernet cable from your dock to your router

  2. Connect (optional) charging dock to power. It has a minimum power requirement of 5V-2A (10W) and comes with a wall plug to USB-C charging cable.

  3. When both cables are connected, place terminal in charging dock

To confirm that the reader is properly docked, verify the reader is charging and the Ethernet icon is visible in the status bar.

Note: When the terminal connects to the internet, it will automatically download and install software updates. Keep the terminal connected to power during this process, which takes a few minutes to complete.

Step 3: Connect terminal to Little Hotelier

  1. Navigate to My apps > Payments

  2. Select Payment terminal tab

  3. Click Connect terminal

  4. Click Next

  5. Enter Registration code (displayed on the terminal screen). If not displayed:

    1. Swipe right from the left screen edge

    2. Tap Settings button

    3. Enter the admin pin: 07139

    4. Tap Generate pairing code

  6. Enter Terminal label (name your device)

  7. Click Close when complete

  8. Check terminal appears under Devices list and status shows as Online

Managing your terminal

Checking connection status

The Payment terminal dashboard will show each device's status — online or offline. This signals whether the device is connected and able to process payments.

  1. Navigate to My apps > Payments

  2. Select Payment terminal tab

  3. View device status (Online or Offline)

Disconnecting your terminal

  1. Navigate to My apps > Payments

  2. Select Payment terminal tab

  3. Click View next to device

  4. Select Disconnect

  5. Confirm by clicking Yes, disconnect device
