Why do I need guest payment card details?
You can use guest payment card details to process payments for their reservation in two ways:
Automatically: using an integrated payment gateway, such as Little Hotelier Payments
Manually: processing and recording payments yourself (without an integrated payment gateway)
Who can view and edit reservation payment card details?
Admin users can view and edit reservation payment card details after verifying with multi-factor authentication (MFA). MFA adds extra security to protect sensitive data in compliance with PCI DSS standards.
General users can add payment card details but cannot edit or view them later.

Important information about the CVV/CVC
A card verification value (CVV) or card verification code (CVC) is a security number usually on the back of a payment card. It's used for verification during online transactions and processing reservation payments.
Important:
Security: CVVs are not stored in Little Hotelier for security purposes
Delivery: CVVs are sent via unnamed .pdf attachments in reservation confirmation e-mails
Visibility: The CVV field only appears for properties using Little Hotelier Pay
Channel support: Some channels (like Booking.com) send CVVs, however some channels may not send the CVV
Do I need to enter the CVV manually?
Yes, you must enter the CVV to save it "on file" to use it again for any future payments on that reservation.
Exception: The only time a CVV is not needed to store a payment card on file is when both the guest’s bank AND the property’s bank are both based in either Australia, Canada, or the United States of America.
Do I need to re-enter CVV every time I process a transaction for a reservation with Little Hotelier Pay?
No. Little Hotelier Payments stores the CVV once entered, so you don't need to enter payment card details again for future payments on that reservation.
Important:
Third-party payment gateways cannot process manual transactions — only Little Hotelier Pay
After entering CVV, click Save and close the reservation window
You cannot view the CVV again once saved
About virtual credit cards (VCC)
What you'll see:
If a channel (OTA) provides a virtual credit card (VCC) for a reservation, you'll see "Virtual card" in the payment type field for the reservation
For some channels, you may also see the balance, activation date (first date you can charge the VCC), and deactivation date (the date the VCC will expire)
Important charging rules:
VCCs can only be charged on or after their activation date
VCCs typically expire shortly after the guest checks out
Ensure all transactions are processed within the valid window
Best practices:
Most channels recommend charging the full VCC balance in one transaction
Refer to the channel's specific policy on charging virtual credit cards
Which bank account receives VCC payments?
Contact the channel directly to find out which bank account is linked to their virtual card payments
If a VCC is declined:
Contact the issuing booking channel directly for support
