Manage reservations
Updated over a year ago

A core element to manage your inventory

When a reservation is created, a particular room is held for your guest to prevent others from booking it. The room availability will automatically be adjusted, and your connected channels will reflect this new availability, reducing the chance of overbooking.

Reservations can be made by the guest (usually through your connected channels or your direct booking engine), or you can manually create them through your Little Hotelier front desk.

Either way, all your reservations (past, present, and future) must be included on your Calendar page.

Why is it beneficial to run and export reservation information

Reservations are there to control your property’s availability and give you additional information you might want to use for the benefit of your guests and optimum management of your property. Find below some advantages of running reservation information:

Records guest information for future reference

Each of your reservations will include guest information you might need to check in the future. A different guest profile is created for every guest included in your reservations.

  • Provides raw data for your reports

Would you like to have a breakdown of revenue per connected channel? Or maybe you are interested in having a summary of your daily transactions? Or the average length of nights that your guests stay at your property? You can pull all this information and much more by running different reports based on your reservations data.

  • Helps you understand guest preferences

A reservation not only includes necessary guest details (name, last name, address, etc.), but also information you might want to take into account for future strategies, including popular lengths of stay and popular check-in dates. This information can help you understand your challenges and how you can face them in the months that follow.

💡 You can also check whether your guests consented to receive promotional e-mails or not, or their answers to customised questions (e.g. if they have any allergies, if they used a guest loyalty code, etc.).

How can I search for a reservation?

There are two places where you can search for one or more particular reservations in your Little Hotelier front desk: from the Calendar page or the Reservations page.

  • From your Calendar page

You can look for a reservation directly by going to a reservation's stay dates in your Calendar.

💡 This method is easy if you know the check-in or check-out dates of the reservation.

  • From your Reservations page

The Reservations page helps you locate reservations using more criteria than the check-in or check-out date (unlike the Calendar page).

What else can I do within a reservation?

There is a lot more you can do on your reservations:

  • Send e-mails with reservation detail s: invoice, booking summary, or confirmation to your guests.

  • Print reservation details : registration form, invoice, or booking summary.

  • Change the status of a reservation.

  • View your reservations on your Calendar.
