This article explains how to apply, open, and modify a room closure through the Little Hotelier mobile app.
Apply a room closure through your Little Hotelier app
You can prevent a room from being booked on specific dates by applying a room closure — see below for how to do this through the Little Hotelier app.
➕ Room closures can be used for all sorts of reasons: renovations, placeholder for reservations, etc.
There are several ways to start creating a room closure in the Little Hotelier app:
In Closed rooms — tap on the Add button.
In Calendar — tap on the Add button, and in the panel, select Room closure.
Alternatively in Calendar — tap and hold on an empty room, and in the Close room panel, modify the length of stay, then tap on Close room, and skip to step 4 in these instructions.
If you are following one of the first two methods, next, tap on a room that you want to close.
Select the start and end dates of the room closure, then tap on Next.
Check the details, and if necessary, tap on the following options:
Edit dates— to modify the selected dates.
Add a reason — to add an explanation for the closure. (For example, "Room being painted".)
Tap on Save — the availability of any affected room types will then be decreased, and none of your direct booking engine or channel visitors will be able to book any closed rooms.
💡 Note:
The functionalities Closed rooms, Close website, and Close channels all look similar, but they are distinct from one another.
Closed rooms is used to apply a room closure to a physical room, thereby decreasing a room type’s availability.
Close website is used to prevent rate plans from being advertised on your Little Hotelier direct booking engine (not any other type of booking engine), and Close channels does the same thing, except on your channels.
Close website and Close channels cannot be used through the Little Hotelier app; instead, they must be used via the Inventory tab in the desktop version of Little Hotelier.
Open a room closure through your Little Hotelier app
In the Little Hotelier app, either in the Closed rooms or Calendar pages, find a room closure and tap on it.
Tap on Reopen room — once reopened, the room type’s availability will increase, and any visitors on your direct booking engine and channel(s) can book the room again.
Modify a room closure through your Little Hotelier app
In the Little Hotelier app, either in the Closed rooms or Calendar pages, find the room closure you want to modify and tap on it — this will take you to the same place as step 4 in the section above titled Apply a room closure through the Little Hotelier app.
Make the necessary changes.
When finished, tap on Save.
