Go to My apps > Front Desk > Setup > Guest Payment Options > Property Level Deposits
Choose a deposit type:
Full amount: guests pay everything upfront
No deposit: no upfront payment required
Percentage: specify a percentage of the total room rate (excluding extras)
First night: charge the first night's rate (excluding extras)
Fixed amount: set a specific deposit amount
For Percentage or Fixed amount, enter the deposit amount
Click Save

Deposit messages
Your booking engine displays these messages based on your chosen deposit type:
No deposit: "Book now, pay later" - guests can complete booking without immediate payment
Full amount: "Pay today" - guests pay the entire booking cost upfront
First night: "One-night deposit required" - guests pay first night's rate
Fixed amount: "(Currency) X deposit required" - guests pay your set amount
Percentage: "X% deposit required" - guests pay your set percentage
If you're seeing "Book now, pay later" on your website, your deposit type is set to "No deposit."
Guests see the debited deposit amount in booking summaries and confirmation emails.
