💡 Important to know:
You can view a reservation’s payment card details in Little Hotelier up to seven days after its check-out date.
For security purposes, card verification values (CVVs) and card verification codes (CVCs) are not stored in Little Hotelier; instead, they are sent to you via unnamed .pdf attachments in reservation confirmation e-mails.
Why are payment card details important for reservations?
You can use a guest's payment card details to process payments for their reservation.
There are two ways to do this:
Automatically — by using an integrated payment gateway, such as Little Hotelier Payments.
Manually — by processing and recording a payment yourself (if you are not using an integrated payment gateway).
Who can view and edit reservation payment card details?
Admin users can — but only after entering a security code, as explained below — whereas General users can add payment card details but not edit or view them later.
How do I view and edit reservation payment card details?

Search for a reservation and click on it.
Go to the Details tab > under the Payment section > click on the View button.
An e-mail containing a security code will be sent to this user account’s e-mail address — open it and note the code.
In the Security Access Required window, enter the security code.
Click on Confirm.
If necessary, update the payment card details.
Click on Update to save the payment card details.
⚠️ If you do not save your changes and navigate away from your current window, the changes will be undone.
💡 You can view a reservation’s payment card details in Little Hotelier up to seven days after its check-out date.
What is a card verification value (CVV)?
Usually situated on the back of a payment card, a card verification value (CVV) — also known as a card verification code (CVC) — is a number used for verification during online transactions, and as such, can be used to process payments for reservations.
💡 Note:
In Little Hotelier, the CVV field is only visible to properties using Little Hotelier Payments.
Some but not all channels send CVVs to Little Hotelier — for example, Booking.com.
⚠️ For security purposes, CVVs and CVCs are not stored in Little Hotelier; instead, they are sent to you via unnamed .pdf attachments in reservation confirmation e-mails.
Do I need to enter the CVV myself when adding a reservation’s payment card details?
Yes, you must do this in order to save the CVV “on file” and use it again for any future payments for that reservation.
⚠️ The only time a CVV is not needed to store a payment card on file is when both the guest’s bank AND the property’s bank are both based in either Australia, Canada, or the United States of America.
Do I have to enter the CVV every time I process a transaction for a reservation with Little Hotelier Payments?
No, Little Hotelier Payments stores a payment card’s CVV once it has been entered, meaning you do not need to enter the payment card details again to process another payment for the reservation.
💡 You cannot use a third-party payment gateway to manually process transactions — only Little Hotelier Payments.
⚠️ After entering the CVV, click on Save and close the reservation window, and remember — you will not be able to see this number again.
Can I view or edit a CVV?
For security purposes, you cannot view a CVV in Little Hotelier after it has been entered for a reservation. If you did not include the CVV when entering a reservation’s payment card details, or you believe the one you entered is wrong, you can add it by following the steps in the above section, titled How can I view and edit reservation payment card details?
💡 If you do not have an integrated payment gateway, you still need a CVV to process payments; however, these payments will not be processed through Little Hotelier but rather your point-of-sale terminal, and the CVV will be sent to you via an unnamed .pdf attachment in the reservation confirmation e-mail.
